The thinner the gauge the smaller the gems, 18g will be a thin hoop with a pop of sparkle. 16g will be a slightly thicker hoop with bigger gems. If your piercing jewelry tends to rotate, then the gems can go into your piercings. Some use a silicone O-ring to prevent it from rotating. Remove immediately if any irritation occurs.
This is not a one size fits all hoop, please make sure you know your size (gauge and diameter) before ordering. The most common size ordered is 8mm. Returns are for new and unused items only, removal of the item from the sealed jewelry card is considered used.
